Google for Jobs

Google for Jobs is based on an AI-driven ranking system. Listings with consistently generated content have the best chance of being found during the organic search. 

Google for Jobs is not an independent job website but an extension of Google’s Universal Search. Google searches the Internet for job offers relating to the term entered. This feature is available via the Google search engine. Keywords are entered in the search box, e.g. “work as industrial mechanic” or “work as controller”. The found job listings appear above the rest of the search results in a separate field. 

Companies do not need to place an ad on Google to be found on Google for Jobs. It is sufficient if a job listing is placed on the company’s career page, on a job website or on social media. Google for Jobs automatically accesses these listings and includes them in the search results. 

When clicking on the listing, the person looking for a job will not be redirected to the company’s website but can view the job listing directly in the search results. The application documents can then be sent to an email address or can be uploaded via a button. 

Google for Jobs offers a number of filter options in order to make the job hunt easier. For example, filters for radius, full-time or part-time jobs, employers or date of publication are available. 

In order to always stay up-to-date, job hunters can save their search criteria and will receive automatic notifications via email once new job listings become available that match their criteria. 

The main advantage for job hunters is that Google for Jobs will automatically sift through the various job websites automatically and therefore the users do not have to do it themselves. Additionally, the search is free of charge and the numerous filter options can narrow down the results based on the level of interest.
